15% of the daily google searches have never been seen before.

According to Google, 15% of their daily search volume is queries they have never seen before. That seems high.

Think how many billions of searches happen daily, and 15% of that Google still hasn’t seen before. As a result of being such a large number, 15% is probably the rate of unique thoughts compared to all thoughts generated. Maybe not exactly, but certainly there is a correlation.

That’s a reminder that when you are out of unique ideas, simply generate more. Eventually, something unique will pop up. The percentage isn’t as small as you think, even if you’re 3X worse than average at thinking up unique ideas, it’s likely with 20 new ideas, one will be unique.
