I recently wrote the blog, Understanding Someone. In that blog, it mentions TV being a shared experience. While TV is not the only option for shared experience, there are all sorts of things around us that no longer have programming. Like a community.
Community programming? Sure, TV programming didn’t exist until someone created it. Someone made the decisions of what would go on. You just need to create your community’s programming. Coordinating events. Crafting a community newsletter. Sharing the local news. Spreading the good word about the town. These are all options to strengthen the community.
The beginning of strengthening a community begins by making a decision about what exactly needs to be strengthened, what shared experience will strengthen that factor, then making it happen and spreading the word about it.
Community is important, and it doesn’t happen on its own.
