To be unbiased…

is to claim yourself omnipotent. A literal god.

The reality is to be unbiased means you must know all that has ever been, all that is, and all that ever will be because if you don’t have all the facts, then you must be biased.

No one is omnipotent. Decisions made as groups, societies and organizations are going to have better outcomes when no one is treated as being infallible. There is strength in redundancy and if every decision is supported by one authority, then there is no extra strength to be found. If that pillar collapses, the whole place comes down.

To recognize knowledge in others. To weigh other facts and opinions in line with your own and give room for the possibility that you are wrong is the antidote to moving towards less bias, and it’s the best anyone can ask for.
